Sunnyside

Music can you can feel, played with a feeling that you need to see. Seeing a Sunnyside performance live, is exactly that - Colours blur into each other, sounds bounce around your subconcious. You are as much a part of the performance as the band is. At it’s best - it’s a transcendent experience, at it’s worst - it’s a damn good party. This is a band that breathes their various influences in deeply, and exhales together a brand of music that has captured audiences globally.

At it’s core, Sunnyside’s output has always been steeped in servitude. Their music is completely defined by their audience. Every song is refined and honed by the feedback that they receive, an ever-changing transformative process that results in a delicious sonic concoction. Sunnyside reminds us of the beauty in collaboration - A cross pollination of jazz, dance, funk and house, led by an inescapable commitment to serve the dance floor.

In 2021 the group released the Pass the Parcel EP. A remote recording initiative made possible by Creative Victoria in response to the lengthy lockdowns experienced in Victoria. The group is currently working on their next full length release while navigating life together as best as they can.

2019 saw Sunnyside release their sophomore LP ’Momentum’. True to it’s name, the album saw the band undertake their first international tour to Japan with a number of sold out shows across the country plus two performances at the prestigious ‘Fuji Rock’ festival. Returning from this breakout tour, the group embarked on a national tour which resulted in a string of sold out shows across the country; eventually culminating in a sold out show at Melbourne’s own Howler in early 2020.
